Change your dog’s emotional state and make reactivity part of his past not his future.
Dog – Dog Reactivity or Dog – Human Reactivity
Your dog processes a variety of events each day and responds to these events based on what the foundation of his L.E.G.S.® have taught him. You can help your dog make better choices so that his patterns of behavior default to a calmer and safer response.
Whether you need to take your dog out on a walk to relieve themselves or whether you are just afraid to welcome friends and family to your home because of your dog’s reactivity, there may be a solution.
A dog’s barking, growling, lunging, and biting people or dogs can be a scary thing to a pet guardian. It can be embarrassing or frightening when people come to your house because you may be afraid that you might lose control of your pet and someone could get hurt.
Oftentimes the root of these reactive behaviors in your dog is caused by conflicted emotions. How am I supposed to behave in this situation? What does this situation mean? What do you expect of me?
Punishing out the barking and growling caused by conflicted emotions only leaves you with an animal that, when it feels threatened, will no longer warn you before speaking louder which could mean biting. You can help your dog refocus and balance their L.E.G.S.® so that they feel less conflicted and develop better response patterns to events that at one time might have frightened them.
Reactive to Relaxed private one-on-one classes that are held in the clients home or on their property. This training is a collaborative effort between the pet dog guardian, the dog, and a Certified Family Dog Mediation® Professional. The family will learn management skills to help their family stay safe and the dog will learn respondent behaviors that will help them become calmer and less conflicted.

“Very impressed with Linda. She really wants to do a great job for us. Good with German Shephards — not easy to approach these dogs without understanding them! Will use Linda again soon!”
Leash Reactivity
Some dogs are fine at home but are uncomfortable in the wide open spaces you would like to take them to. This Reactive to Relaxed training specifically focuses on dogs that lunge, bark, and sometimes redirect when trying to get at a squirrel, another dog, or someone walking by when you are out walking with them. Maybe they even lunge at a bicycle or car that moves past and you are fearful they will get hurt.
Leash reactivity can be the future cause of a guardian’s pulled rotator cuff, being pulled off center to a fall, or worse, being pulled into traffic. This type of unreliable behavior is best managed and modified as soon as possible!
Working with a Certified Family Dog Mediation® Professional will change these behaviors. I train your dog to focus on you and build a positive emotional response where there once was fear. With time, the scary things are less scary. The pet guardian is taught the management techniques needed to help their dog live more comfortably in their daily environment so walks become something pleasurable for both you and your dog.
