Start your puppy off right by socializing him in the world he will live in with you.
The “L” in L.E.G.S is the learning that is so important to your puppy’s future!

Essential Foundations
Introduction to basic life skills and socialization – Ages 8-weeks to adulthood
Ideally, gentle puppy handling should start at birth to begin building the positive connections your puppy needs to know about the world around them. As soon as their eyes are open and they are moving around you can start to introduce them to some of the things that they might come into contact with during their lifetime. Once puppies are weaned at 8-12 weeks old and have had their first set of shots the right puppy classes can safely expose a puppy to other puppies.
Essential Foundations is “no-force” training. Modeled after the A.K.C. STAR Puppy program it introduces puppies 10 weeks through adulthood to fun games that start them on the path to building a connection to you and you to them. These foundations set the groundwork that show your puppy to have calmer interactions with their environment as they mature.
Classes include introducing your dog to other people and animals as well as to common (and not-so-common) objects. We introduce them to sounds as well, including some of the cooperative care sounds and handling techniques they may encounter at the veterinary office or grooming salon. Some dogs don’t start with these first basic steps but we can often overcome any experiences they missed if they are gently exposed to these experiences in training.

Essential Foundations introduces dogs aged 10 weeks and older to fun games that start them on the path to building a connection with you.
We cover cues like:
