IMPORTANT
The dog training industry is NOT regulated.
ANYONE, including your neighbor’s 5 year old and even a felon, can take your money to train pets.
You aren’t required to have any special education or skills tests to do so.
And no one verifies anything!

But at Respectful Communications Animal Training LLC, we believe that it is in the best interest of the consumer for us to show that we have specialized canine body language and learning theory education and are tested on our training skills. We pay for dog trainer liability insurance and get a yearly background check for your protection. We also have a local business license and continue to educate ourselves to be sure we have the most current knowledge regarding the safest and most effective way to train your pet.
Don’t just take our word for it though. We want you to look at our portfolio of education on the About Your Trainer page and verify educational credentials on third party sites because we really do want you to have the best and safest dog training experience for your family!
We don’t use punishment to train your pet for a lot of reasons including:
It isn’t safe
It isn’t as effective
We don’t want to cause even more behavioral problems in your pet.
Watch the video above to be sure you don’t fall victim to a “balanced” or compulsion trainer who will punish your pet, potentially changing your lives forever… but not in a good way.
Beware of “Board and Train” setups because you want to know what your pet is learning. You won’t know what is happening if your dog is not with you during training.
If the trainer suggests using a shock, prong, or choke collar or a slip lead to train your pet then that trainer is not following the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior recommendations for safe training.
